What the test includes and how it is scored
This test checks whether you can fit the main components onto an ASUS PRIME B760-PLUS D4 motherboard: finding connectors, orienting the processor, installing RAM and an M.2 SSD, and spotting an assembly mistake.
What the test covers
- Finding the socket, the RAM slots, the CPU_FAN header and the M.2 slots.
- Orienting the processor and placing it in the socket.
- Installing a RAM module in the right slot.
- Installing the M.2 SSD and securing it with its screw.
- Planning where two M.2 SSDs go, based on the available slots.
- Spotting an assembly mistake on an already assembled board.
There are 9 questions about the ASUS PRIME B760-PLUS D4 motherboard used in the lab. Next to each one, the points it is worth:
- Identify the socket 0,5
- Identify the memory slots 0,5
- Identify the CPU_FAN connector 0,5
- Identify the M.2 slots 0,5
- Orient the processor 1
- Install a RAM module 1
- Install the M.2 SSD 2
- Plan two M.2 SSDs 2,5
- Find the fault 1,5
If you get it right the first time, you score all the points for the question; after one mistake, half; and after two mistakes, 0. If you view the solution, that question scores no points. Taps outside the areas do not count.
